Hek - John Heckle
John Heckle has been doing the rounds in Liverpool since he was 15 - most commonly under the alias 'John Demonic' at the Alcatraz night ran by his brother Bill Heckle, where he shared the stage with many of his biggest influences - including Regis, Steve Rachmad and Neil Landstrumm to name but a few.His first release appeared on Birmingham's RSB label at 16 under the alias Hek, and he has continued to make tracks since - with a release on Paul Mac's Sula Muse, as well as one lined up for Grovskopa's Pohjola imprint.
As well as various gigs in the Manchester and Leeds area, John can now be found performing under this Hek alias - using 3 turntables and a 909 drum machine set up - every month at Liverpool's Rehab night - playing sets illuminated by classic Detroit and Acid; Hood-style minimal; and tougher edged Birmingham and European.

Freakin
On the surface, York doesn't seem like the sort of place where a legendary underground house night might take place. Do a little digging, however, and you'd be pleasantly surprised at what you'd unearth.Freakin has been causing mayhem on dancefloors and fields all over York for over 10 years now. Started by Rich Clark back in '96, the night boasted quality house line-ups featuring awesome talents like Chris Duckenfield and Murray Richardson. Something which was unheard of in York but very warmly appreciated.
The latest guests at Freakin include Milton Jackson, Jimpster, and York-grown talent in Vector Lovers and Tim Wright.
The Freakin guys run a fantastic internet radio station - Motortechno is one of the many quality shows - so tune the fuck in!

Veztax
Veztax has been into dance music since the turn of the 90s, as a clubber at first then as a promoter, organising parties at clubs around Slovenia. After finally purchasing a pair of turntables, Veztax soon made a name for himself and became resident at the JazzClub in Kranj, Slovenia. Since then he has travelled all over Europe, playing with the likes of Luke Slater, Adam Beyer, DJ Rush and Steve Rachmad. Whilst being a staple ingredient in Eastern Europe's thriving techno scene, he also puts on his own 'interparties' around Slovenia and Croatia. Most notable of all is his production discography. In his years in the business, Veztax has had material released on labels including Recycled Loops, Wetmusik, Recon Warriors and Rhythm Convert amongst many others. Furthermore his newly established Vezotonik label boasts solid releases from Dejan Milicevic and Valentino Kanzyani.Veztax has done two mixes for the show over the last 18 months, but unfortunately there are no tracklists as they were recorded at live events. Accept our motorpologies.

Shin Nishimura

Shin Nishimura started his carreer in Shanghai, China, at a time when dance music was more or less non-existent there. Shin began organising his own "Plus" parties there which showcased numerous artists and DJs, and succeeded in establishing a firm techno foothold in the city. In 2001 Shin had his big break in Europe when he was booked to play the Mayday party in Germany. After a string of gigs around Europe, Shin returned to his native Japan and started his ''PlusTokyo'' parties in...Tokyo. Things continued to go from strength to strength and in 2002 Shin headlined the Wire festival for the first time alongside Takkyu Ishino and Ken Ishii, a party that has since gone on to be graced by the likes of Joris Voorn, Derrick May and Jeff Mills.Shin's own label, Plus Tokyo or Plus Records, was launched in 2004 and now has ten releases under its belt, including work from Technasia and Hardcell amongst others. In recent times Shin has established 'Deka Traxxx', a sub-label outing with 8 releases available for purchase on vinyl and mp3 already.
His distinct style and approach has set Shin apart from his peers and earnt him the respect and support of some of the industry's biggest players. In the very near future Shin will be releasing a live set, recorded at one of his Plus parties in Tokyo, as well as upcoming material on Deka Traxxx and the 'Mezzotinto' label, based in France.
You can find the tracklisting for Shin's exlusive motormix in the 'radio' section. Surprisingly.
