Ricky Ambury
Although having been a fan of electronic music for a few years, it was during Ricky's late teens that his tastes began to shift. After a few trips to hip nightspots in the big city, Ricky discovered the tunes that were really starting to rock his cock were all party to the world of techno. In his first year at university Ricky had the good fortune of meeting Rod, already a helpless techno addict. Under the Rodfather's wise gaze Ricky's love for techno grew and grew, with Ricky citing a single performance from Green Velvet as the point of no return.Ricky's self confessed guiding star in his entrance into techno has been Dave Clarke, enamored by his ability to find and showcase incredible tracks that are previously completely unheard of. Again Ricky is a fan of techno in all its colours and scents, but is identifiable through his love for moody synths and stuff with a dark, emotional twang to it. Think Jay Denham, Mark Broom and Steve Rachmad.

Tom Long - Motorfunction
Tom has been DJing for just over 8 years now, innocently opting to buy a pair of cheap decks at the age of 14, unaware of the impact they'd have on his direction and lifestyle from that point on. After a while to-ing and fro-ing with different music and styles, Tom eventually found his element in the intricate expanse of liquid wonderment we know as techno. Although his tastes and output on the show span beyond techno's distant boundaries, it's in his live sets that you bear the brunt of his own personal take on techno. His quick, balls-to-the-wall three deck mixing draws influence from heroes Ben Sims, Charles Siegling and DJ Bone, amongst others who've had a hand in moulding the distinct cocktail of funky, deep and steppin' techno he has become synonymous with. In 2008 Tom formed Motorfunction, a 6 deck/2 mixer project with Rod. This new venture gives them the ability to play above and beyond their own personal styles and limits. These intricate multi-deck sets take both their own personal imprints of techno, chew them up and spit the whole lot out as one solid, bastardized hunk of dancefloor bizzle. The sets became an instant hit, and have gone on to perform in Liverpool, Wales and Leeds as well as warming up for James Ruskin and Regis at their own Motor night.

Rod Fry - Motorfunction
Rod Fry, founding father of all things Motortechno, is what you might call a purveyor of techno. A veritable technophile, in other words. As a result his forward thinking sets consistently traverse boundaries and encapsulate Motortechno's reason for being. In recent months Rod has also given the studio a leathering leaving a diverse string of techno tracks in his wake, with some of his material being signed for digital release in the coming few months. You can hear the full spectrum of Rod's musical endeavours on the show each week, as well as selected snippets on his myspace. Keep your ear to the ground for more info on fresh new beats from the Rod refinery, as well as links to all Rod-related mixes in the media section. Innit.
