SUBJECT DETROIT on Motortechno Radio
SUBJECT DETROIT ON MOTORTECHNO RADIOIt's been in the pipeline for a short while now, but these things cannot be rushed. We can now fully announce our collaboration with Subject Detroit, possibly the most consistent and longstanding outlet of true detroit techno in existence.

This rare showcase of all things Subject will feature bang up to date material from the label, both readily available tracks as well as upcoming EPs not yet on full release. Furthermore, Bone himself has done us a mix especially, giving listeners a chance to savour the music in it's most natural habitat - mixed by the man himself.

This is NOT to be missed...

Red October sees Motor and Damage come together to bring you a veritable feast of techno to obliterate those end-of-summer (if it can even be called that) blues. Our headliners need no introduction - James Ruskin (Blueprint/Tresor) & Regis (Downwards/Counterbalance) have both been in the very thick of it for over a decade and are without doubt two of the most influential figures in both the UK and world techno scenes. We're proud to be showcasing the return to Manchester of their phenomenal O/V/R duo project. In support of Regis and Ruskin we have Hek [Pohjola/Rehab] making a welcome return from Liverpool to administer a repeat dose of heavy detroit. Rod and Tom will be performing their brand new 6 deck/2 mixer DJ project 'Motor Function' debuted at August's Motor, and of course Damage co-founders Danny Spilsbury and Mark Anderson will be spinning along with our final main room guests we'll be welcoming down; Mucky Beats [The Techno Experiment] and Dunnie [The Mill, Bradford]

Room 2 is under the command of Mark Archer. As part of Altern8 in the 90s, Mark had a massive hand in the development of the UK rave scene, becoming a household name for lovers of electronic music the world over. In recent years he has turned his attention to other areas, promoting his own brand of laid back techno on his own net radio station, www.future-music.co.uk. This rare set from Mark will be something not to be missed.

Providing reinforcements in room 2 will be Arthur Barr [FullBarr digital/As If, London] bringing his definitive brand of deep driving minimal to Manchester for the first time. Our second room also features Damage resident Trevor Savory, and Johnny Davison and Ben Thompson, founders and residents of Blackburn's shining beacon of house and techno, 'Squelch'. Last but by no means least, future-music.co.uk's newest recruit Andy Ollerhead will be making his debut, laying down the wonk.

BEN WOOLLARD [Detatched/Mapt]
BRAD KELLS [Joy]
MISSPERCEPTION [Joy]

As the time of the year we for some reason call 'summer' draws to an end, Motor returns with the third instalment of our opening trilogy at Joshua Brooks.

This month, Motor plays host to an assortment of talent from across the Pennines. Brad Kells and MissPerception are the figureheads behind the mighty 'JOY' nights in Leeds which over the past few years has established itself as a flagship of techno in the North of England, attracting names such as Joey Beltram, DJ T-1000, Speedy J and The Advent amongst numerous others.

At Motor, Brad will be knocking out a trademark DJ set and MissP will be playing an exclusive producer's laptop set, something absolutely not to be missed.

Our third guest this month is Ben Woollard, bringing his solid brand of dark, industrial techno to the bowels of Josh Brooks. Another well respected and recognised player on the northern circuit, Ben is one of the key players of Leeds' monthly techno institution Detatched. Although only just approaching it's 1st birthday, the night has blown away other models in the artists it has hosted. Already having had Surgeon, James Ruskin, Oscar Mulero and Phase amongst others, the night is also responsible for giving a UK debut to Counterpart last month as well as the mighty Go Hiyama later in September.

Usual support will be provided by Rod Fry, Tom Long & Ricky Ambury.

MOTOR, Friday 4th July, Joshua Brooks, Manchester

MOTOR goes monthly!
This year's independence day marks Motor's debut monthly night at (the much-loved) Joshua Brooks. Going on every first friday of the month, Motor will bring together the cream of up and coming techno talent across the North of England and beyond. Expect performances from residents and luminaries of pioneering techno nights including Alcatraz (Liverpool), Locked (Manchester), The Techno Experiment (Manchester), Detatched (Leeds), Mapt (Sheffield), Pure Techno (Hull) amongst many others from further afield.

As some will know, Joshua Brooks has recently been refurbished. Aside from the newly installed chandeliers and lighting upstairs, as lovely as these changes are, the point is the downstairs will be getting a big, sick, fuck-off new sound system, which before long we will be playing loud detroit techno out of.

As its the first night we'll no doubt be in a generous party mood so expect CD and innane nonsense giveaways throughout the night...

Friends and smiles more than welcome :)

MOTOR - VENUE ANNOUNCED!
MOTOR @ PARADISE FACTORY aka THE CLUBAfter last minute licensing altercations with Silo we have been forced to abandon the venue...BUT...we are massively pleased to announce that we have struck a deal which will bring Motor to 'The Club' formerly known as the Paradise Factory, 112-116 Princess St.

The Paradise Factory, or 'The Club' as it's now referred as, needs no introduction or description. Sou Tai will now be making their UK debut at arguably the country's most prestigious nightspot, and as promised will be slamming out their as yet unheard brand of high octane dancefloor-destroying techno on the venue's funktion1 soundsystem.

MOTOR | 20/03/08 | THE CLUB | 112-116 PRINCESS ST

For those who have already purchased tickets, worry not, these will of course still be valid...
